Somatics

Somatic exercise is a safe, gentle approach to eliminating chronic muscle pain for the long term. It is the only sensory motor training method that teaches you to reverse the root cause of chronic muscle pain: through following some simple exercises to reduce muscle tension and pain. Through simple movements, you are taught how to relax the muscles that contribute to your pain. While most pain relief methods focus only on the specific area of pain Somatics understands that pain is part of a larger pattern of muscular dysfunction.

Effectively you will be given exercises to retrain your brain to reconnect with movement. Somatics come from the perspective that we have simply forgotten how to move correctly. You can and will, re-set your body to how it was before you started to develop pain. Case Study - Jason

Jason found his job as a teacher, had over the years, caused him considerable back pain, he had started to put on weight, he found his fitness levels were poor, a 30 minute walk would leave him aching and out of breath.
